All New Explorer Models Coming This Summer

America’s favorite SUV is getting two new models this summer. Ford has just introduced the Explorer ST and Explorer Hybrid models. These models will each come equipped with a wide range of features and technologies on top of the excellent standard tools the 2019 Explorer comes with. The goal was to have an SUV that could adapt and be as unique as the those individuals that drive them.

Explorer ST:

The Explorer ST is designed in the proud and powerful ST tradition. With a 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine and an projected 400 horsepower and over 400 lb.-ft. of torque, the Explorer ST is one of the toughest and strongest SUVs on the road. It also comes equipped with a unique and identifiable black mesh grille insert, roof-rack side rails, skid plate elements, and liftgate applique. These factors contribute to make the Explorer ST “a hell of a lot of fun to drive,” according to Ed Krenz, a Ford Performance Team engineer.

Explorer Hybrid:

Ford has made it a goal to bring the advantages of hybrid technology to the adaptability and power of the SUV with the Explorer Hybrid. Unlike hybrid sedans, the Explorer Hybrid doesn’t shy away from displaying a powerful presence on the road, and can do so longer with a possible 500-mile range after a gas station fill-up. To keep its spacious cargo and passenger capacity, the liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery has been mounted in the body of the Explorer beneath the second row seats.

The Explorer ST and Explorer Hybrid are set to appear in showrooms for the 2019 summer season, so keep an eye out!
