Ford Pro Releases Commercial Charging Solutions

The entire automotive industry is making a shift towards electric vehicles, and the commercial sector is no exception. As Ford releases battery-powered commercial vehicles like the F-150 Lightning and the E-Transit, there’s a growing need to supply businesses with support like charging solutions, and Ford Pro is on the job with brand new charging hardware, recently added to its suite of end-to-end solutions, designed to make transitioning a commercial fleet to electric simple and easy.

This new hardware, a Series 2 AC Charging Station 80 amp with an expanded DC Fast Charger, has been designed specifically for commercial use and is packed with new features, like enhanced security with RFID that limits unwanted charger access, a new LCD screen that displays step-by-step charging instructions, temperature sensors for safety and efficiency, and much more. Together with Ford Pro’s charging management software, it creates a fully integrated solution that simplifies vehicle charging for both Ford and non-Ford electric vehicles.

Ford Pro boasts a BEV Fit team that offers complimentary consulting to commercial customers in order to help identify available incentives, consult on charging site design and construction, and collaborate with local utilities on energy needs.

Ford Pro is also releasing other charging options like an extended DC Fast Charger in 180kW and 240kW. This gives fleet operators and their drivers more versatility in the workplace, facilitated by more power and shorter charge times. These chargers feature aluminum pedestals with an improved cable retractor and a sleeker look.

These chargers work with Ford Pro’s smart charging software, designed to ensure that the vehicles in a fleet are charged and ready to go whenever they’re needed. The integrated software and hardware solution makes it easier for fleet managers to optimize how, when and where EVs are charged, along with utility reimbursement reporting, which is crucial for home-based drivers.
